luke17;6
And the Lord said, if ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, be thou plucked up by root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
EXPLANATION.
Jesus in our text addresses the topic of faith using the size of the mustard seed in relation to uprooting a sycamine tree. I believe one of the reason why Jesus used a mustard seed is to help us understand that even if we think our faith is small it can still do the impossible. Therefore, the emphassis of faith is not really about its size but its potency when put to action through "SAYING" which is how we put faith to action. No matter how small you think your faith is, the action of speaking can make the impossible happen. With this in mind we can address the next point, which is about directing our faith to a specific target or situation. Our text emphasizes speaking to the ROOT of the tree not just speaking to the tree. Why is this important? The root is what holds the tree in place; it is strength of the tree and the organ that accesses nutrients from the ground. This means that in order to deal with problems or issues that seem impossible, we can either remove or reverse them by locating the root of the problem. As simple as this seem, it is not that easy especially because you generally do not see the root of a tree. In order to locate the root of the tree you must dig the gran. digging this could involve conducting a research on the our ancestry or bloodline to possibly locate the origin of a problem. An example of this was when sin of immorality which i believe travelled from Jesse ( psalm 54:5) to david ( 2samuel 11:4 ) to annon ( 2samule 13:14 ) to absalom ( 2samule 16:22 ) to adonijah who requested for david's damsel ( 1king 2 : 17 ) and finaly to solomon who doesn't
